Business Tripping

Just returned from a business trip to Mini-apple-less. Yippee. In the middle of presentations I found myself thinking about...

eating healthier... could I actually do the vegan thing...
training for cross... is it too late to really make a difference...
9 Mile... better than sixth...
TranRockies... who'd be a good partner...
Is the air dead in this room?...

What I didn't know going in was that Laura Bush was speaking at the hotel we were staying at. The morning she spoke there were cops all over, the place was tapped off and I was looking around for a dead body. It was just Laura Bush.

I am not a fan.

Vegan...maybe vegatarian first. Let me know. I can recommend some good books to get you on the right track. I also have a bunch of cookbooks to lend a good neighbor.

I came across a dirt rag article about a vegan endurance racer you may be interested in. I think the real difference is being sure to have a quality diet, not weather it contains meat.

Just a quick comment about vegans. First, yes, vegetarianism can be healthy. But I also think that veganism, when used religiously and taken to its extreme, can become a sort of socially acceptable anorexia. That is, a way for people who feel out of control in their lives to take control of something: food. I know of someone on the "raw food" diet that I think fits this category. So I just ask that you think about your real motivations, and if they are indeed about health, go for it.

Been a vegan for 10 years and a vegetarian for 5 before that and the transition was gradual. one thing leads to another and certain things make sense. still have a healthy attachment to bread and rice etc. so I can't do raw only. not yet anyway. do what makes sense to you. Laura Bush makes as much sense as her husband...

Have you considered Freeganism? The Fall/Winter months are ideal for dumpster diving. Bon Appetite!
